DER-247 - High Efficiency 20 W Power Supply

This document is an engineering report describing backup power supply utilizing the TOPSwitch-JX TOP264EG. Intended as a general evaluation platform for PC backup power supplies, this power supply accepts input voltages from 110 VDC to 400 VDC and provides a 5 V, 20 W continuous output. This backup power supply is designed to meet 80 Plus standards and Energy Star 2.0 >85% average efficiency, <100 mW no load at 400 VDC. This power supply offers the following various protection features for a small number of components: Overvoltage protection (OVP) with latching shutdown and optional fast AC reset Primary-side sensing output Overload protection Latching open loop protection Overload automatic restart even in the event of a single fault Protection Precise thermal overload protection using large hysteresis automatic recovery This document contains power supply specifications, schematics, bill of materials, transformer documentation, printed circuit layout and performance data.
