LTC2924 Power Supply Sequencer Design Guide

Overview
This document describes the design and application of the LTC2924 power supply sequencer. Key features include: - Function: Provides precise sequencing control for multi-voltage rail systems, ensuring sequential power supply startup and shutdown to avoid damage to sensitive devices such as FPGAs. Supports four power supplies (expandable to six or more). - Key Features: Sequencing delay (200ms/µF) set via the TMR pin, with independent configuration of startup and shutdown delays. High-accuracy voltage monitoring (<1% error) with built-in fault detection (such as timeout and brownout). - Design Advantages: Flexible adjustment via resistors and capacitors without software required; supports direct MOSFET drive or power-down pins; and integrated soft-start functionality. - Applications: Systems requiring multiple power supply management, such as communications equipment, servers, and base stations. - Typical Circuit: Provides reference designs for external MOSFET connection, direct drive, and delay configuration. - Features: Compact (16-pin SSOP), highly reliable, and low-cost, suitable for industrial and communications applications.
