38-Type USB Dock with Integrated Network Card and Card Reader (TYPE-C Input)

Overview

1. Introduction:
This docking station uses a Type-C input and outputs two USB 2.0 ports, one SD card slot, and one 100Mbps Ethernet port.

2. Performance:
USB 2.0: 480Mbps
SD Card Read/Write: Supports USB 3.0 speeds
Ethernet Port: 100Mbps

3. Solution :

USB 2.0: FE8.1
SD Card: GL3224
Ethernet Port: RTL8152

4. Notes:

Both the GL3224 and RTL8152 have additional firmware soldering locations. The GL3224 requires firmware flashing (which can be done via USB, requiring a specific tool, see attachment) to support USB 3.0 speeds.
The RTL8152 can also be configured using a dedicated tool to adjust MAC address and other information.

An external read/write protection switch is included for the SD card; read/write protection can be enabled or disabled.
(The RTL8152 in the physical sample was not configured and worked immediately upon power-on; the GL3224 required an upgrade tool.)
