Overview
gk is a small battery-powered handheld game console based on the STM32H757 microcontroller (600 MHz) and 128 MiB XSPI SDRAM. Its hardware configuration includes: 640×480 resolution 24-bit color touch screen Audio output (supports headphones/built-in speakers) Accelerometer/gyroscope (for tilt detection) USB interface (for system configuration) WiFi network support Hardware design files (KiCAD schematics and shell STL files) are available in the gk-pcbv3 directory. The firmware (gkos) is located in the Firmware directory, and detailed documentation can be found in Firmware/doc. Despite being a microcontroller, gk can still run many native games at smooth frame rates, such as: PacMan clones sdl2-doom QuakeGeneric ChocolateDescent Red Alert SDL Mesa software-rendered 3D games (such as "Tux Racer" link) In addition, gk supports emulator operation: Mednafen can smoothly emulate Atari Lynx, GameBoy, NES, Sega Master System and SNES (simple games up to 60 FPS, complex games ≥ 20 FPS). Hatari emulator (link) is also compatible. Other related code libraries include: gkos Userland toolchain and libraries (gk-userland): Contains the game list menu program gk-menu. Userland interface (gk-userlandinterface): Defines simple structures/macros for communication between kernel and userland.
