I bought a Dell Inspiron in 2012, and it has never broken down, but its performance is very poor now. I was going to change my computer some time ago, but after thinking about it, I changed it to a solid state drive, which is very fast and can last for another 3 years :pleased:

I have used Dell machines before and their service is super good. Changing to a solid state drive can really improve the performance a lot.

If you don't compile the kernel and the like, the processor should be enough. Even a processor from 4 years ago has more than enough performance for most people. After changing to a solid state drive, it takes 17 seconds to enter the desktop after pressing the power button. It used to take at least 1 minute. Excluding the time for the bootloader, it really takes 8 seconds to boot up.

Previously I had a DELL Inspiron N5110, but the i3 processor was slow. Later I added a solid state drive and it wasn't slow anymore, but it was hot, so I just bought an HP Omen in April, with an i7-6700HQ, 8G. For a gaming laptop, its performance is pretty good for development. I have no problems with any software at the moment, but of course I can't compare with those tycoons who use MACBOOK.

12-year-old Dell Vostro V3450D-468. It was 5200 when I bought it. It has never broken down. I added a 120G SSD and 4G DDR3. It boots up very fast now and can last for another 3 years.
