The circuit is shown in Figure 3-146. This line eliminates the need for a step-down transformer and uses the principle of capacitor energy storage and discharge to achieve braking. It can be used for motors
with infrequent starts and stops and a power of less than 1kW .
When stopping, the contactor KMi (or KM2) is released, and the capacitor C discharges to the motor stator winding, thereby generating braking
torque and stopping the motor quickly.
