MAX2740 is a complete GPS receiver downconverter chip that completes signal processing from antenna output to digital input. The MAX2740 receive channel includes an LNA, a 2-stage downconverter, a variable gain amplifier, and a fixed gain amplifier. The chip also contains a high-performance VCO and fixed-frequency synthesizer, which provide all LO (local) oscillation frequencies required by the chip and require only a few external components. Suitable for use with GPS/GLONASS receivers.

The MAX2740 has a receive gain greater than 100dB and an AGC control range greater than 50dB. Using a 2-stage down-conversion superheterodyne structure and an external SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) filter, a high level of image suppression and blocking performance can be obtained.
