What is a fixed resistor? What is its function? By learning several commonly used fixed resistors through this article, you can further understand electronic components and enrich your electronic knowledge.
1 wirewound resistor (RX)
It is composed of an insulating base, resistance wires and pins wound on the insulating base. The resistance of wire-wound resistors is generally small, between 0.10-10kn. For wirewound resistors with very small resistance, the resistance wire is often made of metal wire with low resistivity (such as copper, iron).
The main features of wirewound resistors:
It has high resistance precision, good temperature resistance, little resistance effect due to temperature, and high power.
2 thin film resistors
Thin film resistors are composed of an insulating base, a resistive film (carbon film, metal film, metal oxide film, etc.) deposited on the insulating base, and a cap with leads.
According to the different resistive films used, thin film resistors are divided into carbon film resistors, metal film resistors and metal film oxidation resistors.
1) Carbon film resistor
Generally, there is a mark "RT" on it, R means resistance, T means carbon, which means carbon film resistor.
Main features of carbon film resistors:
It has a wide range of resistance values, good resistance value stability, little influence on voltage and frequency, and stable pulse load.
2) Metal film resistor
A resistor formed by depositing metal or alloy powder on the surface of a ceramic substrate through vacuum evaporation.
Characteristics of metal film resistors:
The resistance accuracy is higher than that of carbon film resistors, with good stability, low noise, small temperature coefficient, wide working environment temperature range, high temperature resistance, small size, etc.
3) Metal oxide film resistor
The tin salt solution is sprayed on the surface of the ceramic substrate, and then treated at high temperature to cause the salt solution to react rapidly chemically, forming a metal oxide film resistor on the surface of the ceramic substrate.
Features:
The metal oxide film has strong adhesion to the substrate, high film strength, and good wear resistance.
The film layer is thicker, so it is suitable to make a low resistance resistor.
Cheap raw materials and simple process
3 synthetic resistors
1)Synthetic resistor
It is formed by evenly coating the conductive synthetic suspension on the surface of the insulating substrate and curing it.
Features:
Rich raw materials, simple production process and low price
2)Synthetic solid resistor
Synthetic solid resistors are made by mixing carbon powder, binder, and fillers and pressing them into a solid resistor.
specific:
High reliability, low price and other characteristics. Commonly used in artificial satellites, submarine cables, computers, etc.
3) Metallic glass glaze resistor
It is formed by mixing metal or metal oxide powder and glass glaze powder in proportion, then using a binder to mix the two powders into a slurry, and evenly applying the slurry on the insulating substrate.
specific:
Wide resistance range, small temperature coefficient, small noise coefficient, moisture resistance and high temperature resistance
4) Chip resistor
It is a special form of glass glaze resistor. Its resistor body is made of highly reliable glass ruthenium-based glass glaze slurry sintered at high temperature, and the electrodes are made of silver-palladium alloy slurry.
specific:
Small size, light weight, wide resistance range, high precision, good stability, etc. Widely used in high frequency coordinators, DVD players, mobile phones, etc. The above is the technical knowledge of fixed resistors, I hope it can help you.
