Change the motorcycle turn signal to a warning, brake, width and turn signal light

Motorcycle brakes only have taillights but no width lights. Also, there are no warning lights for oncoming vehicles, which can easily cause traffic accidents. Turn signals can be used to complete these two functions.

1. Principle
The brake switch of the motorcycle is used to control the operation of the relay coil, thereby controlling the on and off of the four turn signals. When the motorcycle brakes, the brake switch is closed, the relay works, the normally open contact is closed, and the four turn signals light up at the same time; similarly, if there is a vehicle ahead that needs to be warned, lightly press the brake (not braked at this time) to close the brake switch, and the four turn signals light up to warn the vehicle ahead. The function of the two 1N5401s is to keep the steering function of the turn signal unchanged.

2. Production
Take the 125-type riding motorcycle as an example (see Figure 1 for the schematic diagram). Step 1: Cut the diode lead as short as possible. Solder a wire to its negative terminal and solder the two 1N5401 positive poles to the normally open contact of the relay. Step 2: Solder the common contact of the relay to one of its coil pins and solder a wire to it. Solder a wire to the other pin of the relay coil. Step 3: Insulate the relay pins and put it into a suitable plastic bottle (such as a plastic bottle for medicine). Make a hole in the bottle cap, pass the wire through and cover it. Step 4: Disassemble the motorcycle seat. Find the brake switch, brake taillight, and turn signal connector assembly of the motorcycle (all wrapped together), distinguish the brake switch wire, left turn signal wire, right turn signal wire, and ground (negative) wire, which can be identified by the color of the wire. Step 5: Pull out the corresponding connector, connect the finished accessories according to the diagram, and insert them into the original socket position, fix the relay assembly, and test it.

3. Improvement plan
If you need to make the warning light flash, just add a capacitor and a diode and make it according to the above figure.
