Right Angle Semi-Rigid Assemblies
Right angie microwave connectors are normally employed for no
other reason than to minimize the distance between the mating
face of the connector and the center line of the cable.
With
braided cable, the use of right angle connectors halves this
distance. Right angle connectors are used for packaging purposes
and not for performance since all right angle connectors available
today interrupt the geometry of the cable in one way or another
and cause impedance discontinuities. As a result, the cable-
connector assembly is operationally degraded from the optimum
characteristics involved with the use of a straight plug connector.

Now, due to newly-achieved cable bending techniques coupled
with the availability of our new semi-rigid miniature coaxial cable,
it is technically feasible to bend the cable

immediately at the
plug entrance and achieve the basic dimensions of a right angle
plug. There is minimum degradation of cable parameters. This
factor, together with our new SMA plug design produces an
assembly affording all the packaging advantages of the right
angle plug with the performance of a straight plug.

Swept Right Angle
Assemblies
State-of-the-art high performance units, these swept right angle assemblies use
CT. 141-50 semi-rigid cable for the right angle bend. The SMA plugs use the cable
center conductor as the center contact. All the assemblies are completely gold
plated after assembly, except as noted. Cable andconnectors are both manufactured
by WaveTronix. Typical VSWR is 1 .2:1 to 18 GHz. Contact the factory for other
configurations.
