Type 3188
Aluminum Electrolytic Screw Terminals
Type 3188, 85 °C Long Life, High-Capacitance, Computer Grade, Aluminum
Choice of Potted or Rilled High-Vibration Construction
Long-Life Grade of Best Value Screw Terminal Type
The Type 3188 has twice the life of the 3186 and twice the ripple current
capability. Like the 3186, Type 3188 is available with the capacitor element
potted in place for lower cost or secured by rills, spoon shaped dimples in
the side of the can. Rilled construction offers the industry’s highest vibration
and shock withstanding and excellent heat transfer into the sides and bottom
of the can. Besides increasing ripple current handling, the rilled construc-
tion extends the opportunity for Type 3188 into military and transportation
settings that require rugged mechanical capability.
