As cars evolve from mechanical means of transportation to a "third living space," the smart cockpit is becoming a key competitive advantage for automakers. Industry research firms predict that the global smart cockpit market will exceed $60 billion by 2025. This figure reflects a comprehensive upgrade in consumer demand for in-vehicle interaction, entertainment, and safety.

In response to consumer demand for smart cockpits, Avnet, leveraging its forward-thinking technology, has launched a smart cockpit solution based on the Qualcomm SA8295 core board , Infineon's automotive-grade WiFi6/6E & Bluetooth two-in-one chip, and Infineon's TRAVEO™ T2G automotive-grade MCU, redefining the possibilities of in-vehicle interiors.

From "single function" to "full-scene interaction"

Traditional car cockpits are primarily mechanically controlled and have limited functionality. By integrating wireless communications, AI computing power, and multimodal interaction technologies, the intelligent cockpit transforms the interior into a digital mobile terminal that integrates intelligent entertainment, real-time navigation, and efficient communication.

The core of Avnet's cockpit solution uses the CYT4BB series product from Infineon's TRAVEO™ T2G automotive-grade MCU, which integrates a 250MHz Cortex-M7 core and a Cortex-M0+ coprocessor dedicated to encryption processing. Combined with the I/D cache mechanism, it can efficiently handle complex tasks such as entertainment systems, voice interaction, and network security.

Storage configuration

The MCU is equipped with 4MB Flash main memory, 256KB Work Flash, and 768KB SRAM, providing ample storage space for multi-tasking. In addition, its wide voltage design (2.7V-5.5V) ensures stable operation of the system in complex in-vehicle environments.

Interface expansion capability

CYT4BB supports a variety of peripheral interfaces including 8-channel CAN FD, 11-channel SCB, and 16-channel LIN-UART. It also integrates an eMMC controller, SMIF interface, and 10/100 Ethernet controller to meet the diverse needs of in-vehicle communications.

Wireless connection

Avnet's cockpit solution is equipped with the Infineon AIROC™ CYW89570XR module, which supports 2x2+2x2 RSDB technology for dual-band/tri-band operation and is compatible with the IEEE 802.11ax standard Wi-Fi 6/6E protocol. It also integrates Bluetooth® and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 6.0 technologies and supports LE-Audio low-power audio transmission.

CAN bus communication

The solution uses the TLE9255WLC CAN transceiver, which uses a miniature TSON-14 package and supports CAN partial network (CAN PN) functions and the CAN FD high-speed communication protocol, with a maximum data transmission rate of up to 2Mbit/s.

In addition, the transceiver also has the wake-up frame detection function of CAN FD tolerant mode, which effectively improves the response speed and reliability of the system.

To ensure stable operation of the smart cockpit system, the solution utilizes automotive-grade power supply products such as Infineon's SBC (TLE9273QX) and PMIC to create a highly reliable power supply system. The integrated USB-C PD controller supports fast charging up to 100W, meeting the charging needs of mobile devices. Furthermore, for data storage, the solution utilizes the S25FL512S Quad SPI (QSPI) NOR Flash memory based on proprietary MIRRORBIT™ technology. This product is AEC-Q100 automotive-grade certified and operates up to +125°C, ensuring stable and reliable data storage in extreme temperatures and complex electromagnetic environments.
