Volvo Cars upgrades by deploying Microchip MOST150 devices

Microchip announced that the new Volvo XC90 series vehicles from the Volvo Car Group have fully adopted the Microchip OS81110 Intelligent Network Interface Controller (INIC), successfully migrating from the MOST25 to the latest MOST150 standard. The MOST150 boasts rich functionality and is the first and only technology standard to provide a mature, off-the-shelf automotive physical layer for in-vehicle Ethernet packet transmission. This transmission function uses the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard.
