FRDM-KW40Z is a low-cost development platform using Kinetis ® W series KW40Z/30Z/20Z (KW40Z) based on Arm ® Cortex ® -M0+ processor , with integrated 2.4 GHz transceiver and support for Bluetooth ® Smart/Bluetooth ® Low Energy v4.1 and/or IEEE ® 802.15.4-2011 standards.
The FRDM-KW40Z kit contains two circuit boards that support point-to-point connectivity out of the box. Each board can be configured as a Freedom development board or a Freedom Shield expansion board. The hardware specifications of FRDM-KW40Z are compatible with the Arduino ® Rev3 pin layout, providing a wealth of expansion board options.
FRDM-KW40Z features high sensitivity, optimized 2.4 GHz radio with PCB F-antenna (which can be bypassed to connect to test equipment via SMA connection), multiple power options, push-pull and capacitive touch buttons, switches, LEDs and integrated sensor.
