Overview

1. Self/Team Introduction

The main creators of the project have been engaged in communication product technical support and development and project management in companies such as ZTE and TCL Communications. In 2006, they were engaged in medical equipment development and were responsible for the system design and planning of multi-parameter patient monitors and ECG monitoring and the implementation of medical algorithms. , continue to research portable mobile medical technology;

2. Briefly introduce the project

  1. A non-wearable, non-contact smart sleep monitor;
  2. Through the strip-shaped film sensor placed under the mattress (as shown in Figure 1 below), the heart rate, breathing, body movement and other indicators of the person's sleep state are monitored and analyzed;
  3. Provide sleep quality, HRV and OSAHS (apnea) screening reports;
  4. Real-time reminder of when the human body is in/out of bed;

3. ** Background meaning **:

  1. No need to wear, non-contact, the sensor can be pressed under the mattress or placed on the mattress, no active cooperation is required, and it will not cause any discomfort to the user.
  2. The strip-shaped film sensing strip can be covered with a waterproof and anti-slip protective cover for easy disinfection and cleaning.
  3. Wide range of adaptability - by adjusting the shape and size of the sensing strip, it can be applied to pillows, seats, skin touch, etc.

4. Describe project details

  1. working principle:
  • Ballistocardiography (BCG): The beating of the heart can cause a series of corresponding periodic movements/vibrations of the human body. These movements/vibrations are recorded with the help of sensitive sensors and traced into waveforms;
  • When the human body breathes, heartbeats or turns over, slight vibrations will occur; the BioSensor-F58GM sensing module can collect these weak vibration signals; through the software algorithm we provide, heart rate, breathing rate, sleep and HRV analysis, OSAHS screening, etc. can be realized;
  • The strip-like film sensing strip designed for mattress application scenarios is responsible for converting tiny vibration signals generated by the human body into electrical signals;
  • BioSensor-F58GM is a highly integrated bioprocessing module independently designed by us. It has an embedded analog front-end that supports various vital sign signal collection, including ECG, heart rate, pulse wave, blood oxygen, respiration, impedance, and skin electrode. Body temperature, electromyography, weight, EEG or other types of sensing signals (such as piezoelectric sensors to achieve non-contact heart rate, respiration, etc. measurement), etc.; at the same time, the module is embedded with low-power/lightweight DSP&MCU, PGA and 24-bit delta-sigma ADC and other circuits.
  • This project is an application example of using the BioSensor-F58GM module + strip film sensing strip to realize the collection of weak vibration signals of the human body.

2. Hardware implementation:

This product consists of two parts (as shown in Figure 2 below):

  • Main control board: ESP32 microcontroller + BioSensor-F58GM module that supports Bluetooth/WIFI;
  • Ribbon thin film piezoelectric/piezoresistive sensing strips;

3. Project software and hardware development framework:

  • All the software and hardware development and implementation of our health applications are integrated in this development framework; of course, this also includes the non-contact sleep monitoring implemented in this project.
  • We are continuing to improve this health application framework, including supporting various IoT technologies of Alibaba Cloud, such as AliOS Things, AliGenie, etc.
