The main chips used in this design are NE555 and CD4017 . The other main components are resistors, capacitors, transistors, DIP switches, etc.

For the work of NE555 , two three-five timers are used, one is used to signal the running water lamp, and the other is used to control the charging and discharging speed of the capacitor to obtain the delay effect.

The delay circuit of NE555 changes their values ​​to change the charging and discharging speed of the capacitor, so that the period of the square wave signal generated when it is output becomes longer, achieving the delay effect.

CD4017 forms a decoding circuit: This chip has 3 input terminals and 10 output terminals (Q0-Q9), and there is no problem in controlling the flow of 6 lights.
