The FAN2110 is a high-efficiency, small, constant frequency 10 A integrated synchronous buck regulator. The FAN2110 uses an optimal interconnection method to include the synchronous MOSFET and controller/driver in a single package, allowing designers to achieve high current requirements in a smaller area with minimal external components. An integrated approach will help minimize critical inductance, making component layout simpler and more efficient than discrete solutions. The FAN2110 provides external loop compensation, programmable switching frequency and current limit. These features make designs more flexible and optimized. High frequency operation enables all ceramic solutions. Summary Current mode modulators use lossless current sensing for current feedback and overcurrent protection. Voltage feedforward facilitates operation over a wide input voltage range. Fairchild's advanced BiCMOS power process combined with low RDS(ON) internal MOSFETs and a thermally efficient MLP package enables high power dissipation in a small package. Output overvoltage, undervoltage, and thermal shutdown protection features help protect the device from damage during faults. The FAN2110 also prevents the pre-biased output from discharging during the startup phase of point-of-load applications.
