Portable T12 - Motherboard 616

Overview

Project cloned from: T12, handle integrated control board, version 616 optimization, reed switch sleep-EDA open source hardware platform (oshwhub.com)

I am imitating it and modifying it. I am not a boss, but a hobbyist. I welcome everyone’s advice!

Production video: DIY a small T12 soldering iron that is super small! Extremely portable! _bilibili_bilibili

The project can be used. This project uses a PD decoy device and is used with a PD charging head with a 20V charging speed.

Notice! ! ! The potentiometer is added after the circuit is tested! ! !

To solder a T12 soldering iron, just align it with the soldering pad. The soldering iron contacts are up and down and negative. I bought the soldering iron at TB’s red envelope entrance. I searched for the T12 tip and there was one with a 10.5 and free shipping. After subtracting the red envelope, it was almost 8. I got it in the mail with a $1 wallet. I bought a soldering iron at this price and spent it casually without feeling bad.

Friends who need it can add tin to fix it as shown in Figure 3, or not fix it. I plan to make it a one-time use. If you think it is a waste, you can omit the steps in Figure 2 and just follow the steps in Figure 1 normally. When the soldering iron is worn out, you can Good to replace. Anyway, it will be fixed with heat shrink tubing in the end.

If you really want to perform the operation in Figure 3, you need to use this metal flux to tin.

Notice! ! ! ! Achieving this step means that except for the potentiometer, you have not soldered, and the rest of the circuit is complete. At this time, power on and test to see if the soldering iron continues to heat to red. Turn off the power immediately and wait for natural cooling (be careful of burns, hold me as shown below) Cover these positions of the heat shrink tube (these positions are not hot), and then check the circuit. Usually the resistor is soldered or the resistor is placed in the wrong position! After troubleshooting the problem, the power-on test showed that the circuit did not heat up until it turned red, and the tin could not be melted. At this time, the circuit was normal and a potentiometer could be added to complete the production.

The way the heat shrink tube is put on and the position of the heat shrink tube can be grasped when the soldering iron is working, and it will not burn your hands.

The size is suitable and holds like a pen. For temperature adjustment, if you have a thermometer, use a thermometer to determine the current temperature. If not, set the potentiometer to the hottest position of the soldering iron, and then lower the temperature step by step until the tip of the soldering iron can melt tin and cannot melt tin. time, then determine the position of the tip that can melt tin, and make a mark on the potentiometer so that the optimal temperature can be found for the next operation.

Excluding the cost of the soldering iron tip, since they are all chip components, they cannot be purchased individually. Chip resistors and capacitors are basically 2 yuan for 100 pieces with free shipping. Plus the more expensive AO4407 is 4.5 yuan for 5 pieces with free shipping, and the LM358 is 8 yuan. Free shipping for 20 pieces, free shipping for 5 potentiometers for 2 yuan, and remember to buy 20V gear for 4.5 yuan for PD decoys. As for the switch, you can change the circuit yourself and use the switch you have on hand. The reed switch is optional. The principle is to close the magnet and disconnect it. Adding a magnet to the soldering iron stand can save the need for a switch to switch to sleep. model. The single cost is low because the decoys can be reused. A control board costs about four or five yuan, but the total cost of purchasing components is high, about forty or fifty.

Lead out the positive and negative poles of the PD20V decoder and connect them to the DC male connector. Note: The positive and negative poles of the DC male connector connected to the decoder must be distinguished and matched with the positive and negative poles of the DC female connector on the control board!

Update record: 2022.4.22, added DC socket.

Latest record: 2022.5.8, pcb added comments. Netizens at site b reported that the PCB did not have component annotations, making soldering inconvenient.
