Overview



The NCP59763AMN050TBGEVB evaluation board serves as a quick evaluation of the NCP59763 part. The board allows setting of the output voltage by variable resistor (trimmer) from 0.5V to 2.1V when assembled by 0.5V device version (default). This board also supports other device voltage versions verification and/or the variable resistor could be replaced by two fixed SMD resistors (supplied on special request). For stable device operation the input and output capacitors are assembled, additional high capacity electrolytic capacitors could be added to spare places. All power and control signals lead to solder pads for easy connection. Input and output signals have kelvin connections (separated force and sense pads) for precise power measurements. For dynamic measurements (PSRR, noise, load transients) there are two spare positions on the board for optional SMB connectors. For enable pin control there is a jumper component which can set the signal high, low or connected to external source. Similarly, a jumper component is used to enable/disable PG pull-up on-board 100k resistor. From a thermal point of view, the board is composed of 4 Cu layers, 1oz thick and all layers contain 650 mm2 ground cooling areas (top layer has slightly less area because of SMD components). These cooling areas are surrounded by cut-outs, which isolates the heat of cooling areas from the rest of the board. There are also three rectifying diodes spare places which could be assembled by for example BAS16HT1G behaving as on-board temperature sensors. The board is equipped by edge connector which is used mainly in the production for board testing.
