The SEC-6K6W-CLLC-GEVK is a CLLC bidirectional DC-DC reference design for on-board charging (OBC). The reference design consists of multiple boards that separate the control section from the power section. The system uses the NVHL040N120SC1 and NVHL020N090SC1 automotive-grade SiC MOSFETs. SiC has the advantages of higher power density, higher switching frequency, and extremely efficient design compared to silicon solutions. The NCV57000 IC provides electrically isolated gate drive capability, separate drive outputs and fault detection with enhanced safety insulation. The NCV4390 is used to control the CLLC topology, allowing bidirectional support through the MCU control pins to switch between the grid and battery or battery and grid while maintaining appropriate output voltage and current. To meet design needs, ON Semiconductor offers power rails (NCV890100, NCV4274, NCV8715), analog signal chains (NCV210, NCV2901, NCV2003, NCV33204), and a variety of small signal devices such as BJTs, diodes, and ESD protection. The SEC-6K6W-CLLC-GEVK is a CLLC bidirectional DC-DC reference design for On Board Charging (OBC).
The reference design is made with multiple boards separating control from the power section.
This system uses the NVHL040N120SC1 & NVHL020N090SC1 automotive qualified SiC MOSFETs.
SiC provides benefits that enable higher power density, higher switching frequency, and an extremely efficient design as compared to silicon solutions.
NCV57000 ICs provide galvanically isolated gate drive capability, separate drive outputs and fault detection with reinforced safety insulation.
The NCV4390 is used to control the CLLC topology, allowing bidirectional support via a MCU control pin to swap between grid to battery or battery to grid while maintaining proper output voltage and current.
Filling out the design, onsemi provides devices for the power rails (NCV890100, NCV4274, NCV8715), analog signal chain (NCV210, NCV2901, NCV2003, NCV33204), and several small signal devices such as BJTs, diodes and ESD protection.
