Overview

1. IntroductionTP5100
is a switch step-down dual-cell 8.4V/single-cell 4.2V lithium battery charge management chip. Its QFN16 ultra-small package and simple peripheral circuit make TP5100 very suitable for high-current charge management applications in portable devices. At the same time, TP5100 has built-in input overcurrent, undervoltage protection, chip overtemperature protection, short circuit protection, battery temperature monitoring, and battery reverse connection protection.
2. The schematic diagram
is relatively simple . You can draw the schematic diagram
according to the specification. Charging current setting instructions As above , I have reserved two 0.1 ohms, which can reach 2000mA. The CS pin is for single and double battery selection, connected by jumpers. 3. Test (single) single-machine lithium battery. Under 5V input, it can reach 1.703A, 8.5069W. 12V input, it can reach 0.882A, 10.571W. After charging for a few minutes, the heat radiation of the components is as above, with a maximum temperature of 59.7 degrees Celsius, located at the TP5100 chip. 4. Summary: The TP4056 evolution version is much better than the linear version in terms of efficiency and current.
