Introduction:
A very simple linear voltage regulator module. The finished product costs several dollars on Taobao. The principle is simple, the volume is small, and it is easy to weld.
Since the design works inside the device, in order to save costs and reduce light pollution, no indicator light is designed. If necessary, you can add it yourself.
The output voltage is determined by the selected chip, and can provide fixed voltage values such as 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.85V, 3.0V, 3.3V, 5.0V, etc.
It can also be used as a voltage source to calibrate the basic multimeter. The input voltage is 5.17V, the chip used is asm1117-1.5, and the output voltage test is 1.492V. The accuracy can be used to calibrate some 3.5-digit multimeters.
Required materials:
ASM1117 chip in sot-223 package (the original imported one from Taobao is about 0.5-1.0, and the cheaper one is even 0.03 and free shipping)
Some 0603 capacitors (0402 and 0805 can also be welded, 1-5 yuan for 50 or 100 on Taobao, very cheap)
Overall cost:
It depends on whether to choose domestic chips or original imported chips. The expensive one costs less than 1 yuan, and the cheap one costs less than 10 cents. You can choose it according to your application scenario.
It is recommended to set the board thickness to 0.8mm, which is convenient for plugging into the corner (or directly build a shed for welding without a circuit board).
The volume can be further reduced, and the original parts are placed on both sides. It may be upgraded later.
Purpose:
For devices powered by dry batteries, lithium batteries + this module can be used to provide simple transformation.
Note:
The static power consumption of the asm1117 chip is relatively high. If the lithium battery is used to transform the clock, the effect may not be as good as the battery life of alkaline batteries. Chip: ASM1117-1.5 Input voltage 5.17v, quiescent current 879uA. The chip I used is domestically made, the original one may be better, but not much better. I added a photoresistor to the alarm clock, which automatically turns on the backlight when the light level is below a certain level. Since the backlight consumes the most electricity, this module is used to power the clock body.
For asm1117-5.0, the input voltage is not recommended to exceed 12v; for others, it is not recommended to be higher than 10v
