LM324 sound detector

Overview

The working principle circuit is shown in the figure above. The microphone installed in a special tube receives the sound in a certain direction (the sound in other directions is suppressed) and sends it to the amplifier for amplification. The amplifier consists of two stages. The first stage is composed of one of the four LM324 operational amplifiers, with an amplification of 110 times the gain. The second stage is composed of another operational amplifier, with an amplification of 500 times the gain. Such a high amplification capability is enough to amplify extremely weak sound signals and output them from the headphones. It can be used to hear weak sounds from far away that cannot be directly heard by human ears.
