Overview
This report describes a universal input 19 V, 45 W isolated flyback converter using the LNK6777E from the LinkSwitch-HP IC family. It contains complete specifications of the power supply, detailed circuit diagrams, a complete list of materials required to build the power supply, extensive documentation of the power transformer, and test data and waveform diagrams of the most important electrical waveforms. One aspect of this design is to demonstrate how to implement secondary-side optocoupler feedback using a LinkSwitch-HP device. The typical LinkSwitch-HP design uses primary-side regulation, but adding optocoupler feedback enables the device to meet applications with stringent transient response (0 to 100%) and no-load input power (<75 mW) requirements.
