DER-368 - 190 W continuous power, 280 W peak power DC-DC forward converter designed using HiperTFS-2, standby operation at 132 kHz

Overview
This document is an engineering report introducing the preliminary testing of a 190 W continuous power, 280 W peak power power supply. The power supply consists of a two-tube forward main converter and a flyback standby converter. It uses an operating frequency of 132 kHz. Designed by TFS7703H IC. An EF25 transformer is used for the main output power supply and an EE16 transformer is used for the standby power supply. The purpose of the test is to determine the maximum output power (with air cooling) achievable by an evaluation board for an "all-in-one" solution with a PC power supply (only) 12 V output. The main converter operates from an input voltage range of 300 VDC to 420 VDC. The input operating voltage range of the standby converter is 120 VDC to 420 VDC. In a typical system, the high voltage DC input is usually provided by a PFC stage. This document includes power supply specifications, circuit schematics, bill of materials, transformer specification files, test setup instructions, and performance data.
