DER-188 - 20 W Power Supply with Very Low No-load Power Consumption

Overview

This engineering report describes a universal universal input, 12 V, 20 W output power supply using the Power Integrations® TOPSwitch®-HX integrated offline switch TOP255PN. The power supply provides extremely low no-load power consumption and excellent standby efficiency. This document contains specifications, schematics, bill of materials, transformer construction details, and performance data for designing this power supply. This document also includes design considerations specific to addressing low no-load power issues.
