MINI 1P8/3V3 CH343P Serial to USB

Overview

A recent project required a UART to USB module with a 1.8V I/O level serial port. Several 340G UART modules I bought from Taobao only supported 5V/3.3V, so I decided to make a portable UART module for reading logs.

It's only 1.1cm x 2.4cm in size, as shown in the picture (the soldering is a bit messy, xD) .

The chip is a

Nanjing Qinheng CH343P,

and the interface

uses a 3-pin GE 1.25 connector
. The pinout is:
TXD,
GND,
RXD .

The level
can be switched between 1.8V and 3.3V via a switch; the indicator is printed on the back.

Testing
at 115200 baud rate showed a normal waveform on an oscilloscope. Shorting TX and RX resulted in the same characters being displayed in a serial port utility.
