Adding a resistor- diode network to the input end of the operational amplifier can form a square law function transformation circuit . The resistor-diode network forms a voltage divider with different voltage dividing factors as the input voltage changes. Since the three diodes (VD1~VD3) each have different turn-on voltages, as the input signal increases, the total network impedance decreases, resulting in an increase in the gain of the operational amplifier.
The input and output relationship of the resistor- diode network has approximate square-law characteristics, so the entire circuit constitutes a square-law converter .
