The Human Resources Excellence Awards (HRoot Awards), now in their 17th year, have a strong influence within the industry. This award recognizes companies that excel in environmental protection, corporate governance, social responsibility, new energy, and carbon peak and neutrality. It also recognizes those that actively fulfill their corporate citizenship responsibilities, implement relevant initiatives, and promote sustainable social development, both internally and externally. This is Avnet's second win, further demonstrating its outstanding contributions to fulfilling its social responsibilities, promoting sustainable development, and creating positive social impact.

2023 Outstanding Social Enterprise Award Trophy

As an advanced integrated solutions provider, Avnet is constantly pursuing business innovation and breakthroughs while also actively fulfilling its social responsibilities and integrating sustainable business philosophy into every aspect of its daily work. Not only that, the company has also organized employees to participate in charity activities on many occasions.

Since 2013, Avnet Shanghai has participated in numerous corporate charity runs, attracting nearly 800 participants to date . This event promotes a healthy work-life balance.

During the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, 592 Avnet China colleagues generously donated over 40,000 yuan worth of epidemic prevention supplies and pediatric rehabilitation equipment to the "Children from the Stars" program at the Wuhan Linjie Rehabilitation Medical Center. From 2021 to 2023, the company, in collaboration with Wuhan Linjie, held three consecutive children's charity art exhibitions for the "Children from the Stars" program, attracting over 1,070 participants. These exhibitions not only brought joy and care to the children, allowing them to celebrate a meaningful Children's Day, but also allowed more people to understand and support these children. Avnet will also print some of the authorized charity artwork on cards, mouse pads, and other cultural and creative products to further promote and encourage community support for children with autism.

Our focus on special groups extends beyond "children from the stars" to professionals and caregivers of children with autism. On April 2, 2022, World Autism Awareness Day, Avnet China partnered with Wuhan Linjie Rehabilitation Medical Center to conduct a series of stress-relief interventions for caregivers of children with autism, serving a total of 160 families. The company is providing practical support and assistance to families with autism.

Since 2022, Avnet China has joined hands with Dabaitian Township, Fengqing County, Yunnan, the hometown of Dianhong tea in the world, to carry out a public welfare project to help farmers, ordering their tea for two consecutive years to do its best to improve their living conditions and help rural revitalization.

While caring about humanity, we also care about protecting the planet. In 2021, 100 Avnet volunteers, along with representatives from original equipment manufacturers and customers, planted 100 Metasequoia trees in Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary. This year, 115 Avnet volunteers, along with representatives from original equipment manufacturers and customers, planted another 108 Baldcypress trees in Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park. Additionally, 30 Avnet volunteers in Beijing planted 30 saplings at Jingluo Villa in Huairou, Beijing. Avnet will continue to expand this initiative to other cities in the future.

In addition, Avnet organized employees to clean beaches, forests, and parks in Shanghai and Shenzhen to reduce the burden on nature and contribute to environmental protection. This year, Avnet also carried out a blood donation campaign, spreading love and positive energy through practical actions.

Ms. Dong Hua, President of Avnet China, said:

"We are delighted to receive this prestigious and highly anticipated award for the second time. We are also very grateful to all Avnet employees, especially the volunteers, for their full commitment and contribution to ESG. As the company enters its second century, Avnet China will continue to be committed to environmental protection, shouldering social responsibilities, and improving corporate governance."

In the future, Avnet will continue to shoulder the responsibilities and mission of a century-old enterprise, constantly exploring and innovating sustainable development models. While generating revenue, we will also further increase investment in public welfare projects and work hard for a better future!
