On August 27th, the second Avnet Automotive Ecosystem Summit (AAES2024) launched with great fanfare in Suzhou, a hub for new energy vehicle development. As the summit's first stop, hundreds of partners gathered to showcase cutting-edge technologies and discuss future automotive trends. The event was a huge success, attracting nearly 200 attendees in person and over 21,000 online viewers.

Dual stimulus from policies and markets

It is imperative to develop and expand the automotive ecosystem

The automotive industry is currently at a new historical intersection and turning point. The potential of artificial intelligence (AI) technology is being explored and expanded at an unprecedented rate. This, coupled with the dual drivers of technological and conceptual innovation, is continuously injecting vigorous development into the automotive industry. In 2020, the "Intelligent Vehicle Innovation and Development Strategy," jointly issued by 11 national ministries and commissions, including the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that by 2025, the goal is to achieve large-scale production of Level 3 autonomous driving and the commercial application of Level 4 autonomous driving in specific environments. At the market level, new energy vehicles have become the main theme of competition, with topics and applications such as intelligent driving and AI-defined cars becoming industry hot topics.

At the summit, many well-known international and domestic original equipment manufacturers, leaders of authoritative industry associations, experts and scholars, and industry partners were invited to present innovative achievements across the entire industry chain, from cutting-edge applications to future trends, from cutting-edge hardware to intelligent software.

Continuously optimize the supply chain

Strive to promote the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial upgrading

With the rapid development of China's economy, the Chinese auto market continues to lead in sales, particularly in the field of new energy vehicles. China has overtaken competitors and become a major global manufacturer and exporter of new energy vehicles. In her opening remarks at the summit, Ms. Dong Hua, President of Avnet China, explained how the company will leverage its century-long sales network and supply chain advantages to support the development of China's auto industry.

Ms. Dong Hua stated , "China's new energy vehicles are reshaping the global automotive industry and its future innovation path at an unprecedented pace. Driven by cutting-edge technologies like intelligence and connectivity, cars are becoming more than just a means of transportation; they are gradually transforming into multifunctional entertainment and consumer devices. This is inseparable from the diversified innovation of the automotive electronics industry, which constitutes a new type of productivity in the automotive sector and has become the dominant force driving the development of technology and supply chain value-added service providers in China's automotive industry. For this reason, Avnet continues to optimize its supply chain and strengthen in-depth cooperation with software and hardware companies across the automotive electronics industry chain. Through complementary roles and resource integration, we aim to develop new types of productivity in the automotive sector, promote the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial upgrading, and work together to create a more prosperous and sustainable future for the automotive industry."

As a co-organizer of the Avnet Automotive Ecosystem Summit in Suzhou and Ningbo, the Shanghai Technology Exchange International Trading Center (STE International) is building the STE International Global Cross-Border Technology Trade Center to connect more domestic and international automotive electronics companies, foster technological exchange, and promote the development of new-quality productivity. Mr. Fu Xudong, Deputy General Manager of STE International, delivered a keynote speech titled "Technology Empowers Innovation: STE International Builds a Global Cross-Border Technology Trade Center," highlighting its important role in promoting industrial globalization.

Mr. Fu Xudong stated , "The Shanghai Technology Exchange, established in 1993, is China's first national permanent technology market, jointly established by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Shanghai Technology International, the international version of the Shanghai Technology Exchange, is based in the Lingang New Area and serves to support domestic and international enterprises in expanding their presence and attracting new businesses. We are currently developing a cross-border technology trade platform in Lingang that integrates a service system, a functional system, and a supporting system. Our service system, through collaboration with multinational companies like Avnet, provides companies with global technology and product trading services through industry supply and demand conferences and technology transfer conferences. Furthermore, leveraging the Lingang New Area's pioneering and piloting policies, we are actively expanding our front-end proof-of-concept center and ODI-registered enterprise services for growing companies expanding internationally. Our functional system facilitates the entry, listing, ownership confirmation, pricing, transaction authentication, fund settlement, and investment cooperation of technological achievements, ensuring the orderly trading of technologies. The Lingang Science and Technology Innovation Park and the Boston Innovation Park in the United States form our supporting system, facilitating the incubation and industrialization of technologies introduced internationally."

The automotive ecosystem gathers innovative forces
