3M 's Water Contact Indicator Tape is a tape that changes color from white to red upon contact with water. It withstands heat and humidity aging without giving a water contact indicator, while the highly absorbent paper backing is water-permeable to display the water contact indicator. Its film top layer is printable via heat transfer, flexographic, and screen printing, and offers improved ink absorption. The acrylic adhesive also provides very high bond strength to most surfaces.

Available in a variety of thicknesses, these water contact indicator tapes are rotary die-cut and meet UL-969 standards, making them suitable for use in a wide range of electronic products such as mobile phones, two-way radios, cameras, laptops, batteries/chargers, and appliance box enclosures.
