Overview

This solution is a pattern recognition system that includes fingerprint image acquisition, processing, feature extraction and comparison modules. It can complete fingerprint identification within 1 second and also provides a hardware encryption and decryption engine to completely protect the internal database and transmitted data. .

Fingerprint recognition technology consists of software and hardware. The hardware part is the fingerprint sensor, which is divided into capacitive (scanning through charge, temperature difference, and pressure) and optical (scanning through light to form a shadow) sensors. Take fingerprints. The software part is the fingerprint recognition algorithm (Fingerprint Algorithm). After the fingerprint sensor has finished reading, the algorithm compares the files in the database.

For capacitive fingerprint sensors, the Nuvoton M485 series is based on the Arm® Cortex®-M4F core, with built-in 512 KB Flash and 160 KB SRAM. The system can run up to 192 MHz, can complete fingerprint recognition within 1 second, and also provides hardware encryption and decryption. The engine supports AES / DES / 3DES / Elliptic Curve (ECC) and other hardware encryption and decryption, completely protecting the internal database and transmitted data.

For optical fingerprint sensors, the Nuvoton N329 series is based on the 32-bit Arm® ARM9EJ-S core. The system can run at a speed of 200 MHz ~ 300 MHz, and supports CMOS cameras and stacks of 8 MB to 64 MB DDR memory, which is not only convenient for customers to Circuit boards ranging from 2-layer boards to 4-layer boards allow customers to easily pass EMI and EMC certifications.
