Overview
 
TC78H660FNG is a dual H-bridge driver IC integrating DMOS with low on-resistance in the output transistor. It can control two DC brush motors or a stepper motor. Toshiba's next-generation DMOS process enables the TC78H660FNG to achieve a low on-resistance of 0.48Ω (typ.) at its maximum rating of 18V [Note 1] / 2.0A [Note 2] and reduce heat generation. The new driver features a regulator for driving internal circuitry and can use a single supply from 2.5V to 16V to drive the motor. Its wide range of applications include mobile devices powered by 3.7V Li-ion batteries, devices powered by 5V USB, and 12V system devices for home appliances. By adopting circuits corresponding to low-voltage circuits, it also supports a 1.8V interface. Additionally, the IC has various built-in error detection features such as Thermal Shutdown (TSD), Over-Current Detection (ISD), and Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO).
