OM13094: LPCXpresso54618 CAN-FD Kit

Overview

NXP recommends the OM13098 LPCXpresso54628 board in combination with the OM13099 CAN-FD shield , which are 100% backward compatible and have more features, as an alternative to this board.

The LPCXpresso54618 CAN-FD kit provides a flexible platform for developers wishing to evaluate and develop using CAN-FD on the LPC5461x family of devices. The kit consists of the LPCXpresso54618 circuit board, featuring the LPC54618 MCU, with an onboard CMSIS-DAP/SEGGER J-Link compatible hardware debugger, and a daughter card with dual CAN-FD transceivers and RS232C interface (also known as Shield plate). This onboard hardware debugger is compatible with MCUXpresso IDE and other leading tool chains such as Keil and IAR. The board also comes with a standard 10-pin header for use with third-party hardware debuggers. In addition to standard LPCXpresso V3 functionality, the board includes a complete set of peripheral interfaces, allowing developers to fully understand the capabilities of the LPC5461x device.

MCUXpresso configuration tools and extended SDK drivers/usage examples are available for the board at http://mcuxpresso.nxp.com . Please note that the CAN-FD driver is not included in the SDK2.2, but it can be downloaded separately under the Download tab on this page.
