Multifunctional JTAG debugger

Overview

A multi-functional JTAG debugger based on FT2232H, integrating JTAG debugging, UART, SPI, IIC and other functions. The JTAG interface can adapt to various level standards (1.2~3.6V), and also has an ESD protection circuit to effectively prevent electrostatic breakdown of the chip during the plugging and unplugging process. The PCB designed according to JLink dimensions can be easily installed into the JLink universal housing. The computer can use the OpenOCD driver FT2232H debugger to debug chips of various architectures, ARM core MCUs and application processors, ESP32 Tensilica CPU, etc. It supports a JTAG clock frequency of up to 30MHz, which is considered a very high speed among JTAG .

Put the PCB design drawing first, and then update the welding and debugging process after proofing.

The PCB and components were all bought from Lichuang (we would like to thank Lichuang for the coupons that helped us save money), and then we started welding the sample:

The packaging of Lichuang Mall is good. All chips are in anti-static bags.

You need to be careful when welding the main chip. This chip is too expensive.

Check with a multimeter to see if there is a short circuit, otherwise it will BOOM and it will not be fun.

Installed it into the debugger housing to see if there are any issues with the size. It seems to fit perfectly.

It’s done here, and we’ll start debugging it later:

I hope everyone can do more and share more works

I would also like to thank Lichuang for providing this platform and hope that we will all get better and better!
