This project uses a large area of copper as the input electrode. There will be parasitic capacitance between the copper and the mains, which will generate voltage and current on the copper. The copper-laying (input stage) is connected to a Darlington tube composed of two triode tubes for amplification, and the Darlington tube output is connected to a triode with an LED load. When the mains power induces a current in the copper paving (input stage), the current will be amplified step by step, and finally the LED will light up, thus achieving non-contact sensing of the mains power supply.
