Overview
  • 1. Function description
  • AUX audio input + Bluetooth two-in-one HIFI level filtered 50Wx2 Bluetooth digital amplifier
  • TPA3116D2 is a Class D power amplifier IC launched by TI Company with very high index parameters. The modulation frequency can reach up to 1.2MHZ, and the high-power output distortion is less than 0.1%.
  • It has two audio source input methods, AUX and Bluetooth, two-in-one; the potentiometer adjusts the volume, and it has a switch for easy volume control. It is very suitable for DIY speakers.
  • 4.2 Bluetooth version, high transmission efficiency and longer transmission distance.
  • Sufficient output power can only be achieved when the audio input is sufficient and the power supply voltage and current are sufficient. The higher the power supply voltage, the greater the relative power. Speakers with different impedances have different output powers.
  • In addition, there are level indicators on the left and right, which will light up different numbers of lights depending on the audio volume.
  • Chip description
  • 1. The chip is TI's Class D digital power amplifier chip TPA3116, output type: 2 channels (stereo)
  • 2. Maximum output power x number of channels at different loads: 50W x 2 @ 4 ohms
  • 3. Chip voltage - power supply: 4.5 V ~ 26 V
  • 4. Features: Differential input, mute, short circuit and thermal protection, shutdown
  • Parameter Description
  • 1. The power supply part adopts DC-005 connector and 5.08-2P terminal. Power supply range: 12V~24V. Use LDO-7812 to power the front-end chip NE5532, and LDO-7805 to power the Bluetooth chip.

  • 2. The preamplifier chip is NE5532, a high-performance low-noise dual operational amplifier (dual operational amplifier). The circuit does not add any mixing and polishing circuits, and basically maintains the original sound and color.

  • 3. The peripheral circuit of TPA3116 is basically designed with reference to the official manual. (But please note that the selection of inductors and capacitors will affect the sound quality)
  • 4. This circuit adds 2 channels of 10 LEDs from LM3915 for level indication.

  • 5. The M18 Bluetooth module is an existing module purchased from Taobao. The power supply is equipped with an LC filter circuit and a 4-button adjustment circuit.

  • Interface description
  • 1. The power supply interface is a DC-005 connector and a 5.08-2P binding post. Note that the PCB has a switch function. If necessary, the switch can be linked through the binding post.
  • 2. Audio source inputs are wired 3.5mm interface input and M18 Bluetooth input. SW1 can be used to manually switch. (Originally I wanted to do automatic switching, but I couldn’t find the relevant information)
  • Personal testing found that the Bluetooth and wired interfaces can be input at the same time, and simultaneous playback will occur.
  • 3, 2.0 dual channel, still uses two 2pin 5.08 binding posts to connect to two full-range speakers.

  • 1. After a week, the sample finally came back and was welded. When it came back after welding, it turned over and the speaker could not work. After some research. I found that the mute pin on the schematic diagram was connected incorrectly.
  • The sticker shows that this is the correct connection, and the original version was connected to it.

  • Question 2. The schematic diagram of LM3915 is found on Taobao. There is a problem. There is a problem with the input resistance of the audio source. After connecting, the speaker sound is very small. The reason is that the resistance is very small and the left channel is basically facing the ground, causing the speaker sound to be small. The solution is not to connect the 10R resistor or increase the resistance.

  • 1. What I use below is the horn that has been with me for many years. I use it to crack walnuts and use it as a hammer. The speaker is still usable and in good condition. It is already scarred. I am using 15W impedance 8 ohms.

  • Problem Description
  • 1. The latest schematic diagram and PCB have been updated. Update content: 1. Modify the silent pin circuit. 2. Add a high current toggle switch.
  • 2. Use a better power supply to power the amplifier. It is recommended to use a 15V-24V, 3A or above regulated power supply.
  • 3. If you want to drive a high-power speaker, the power amplifier chip should choose a large aluminum sheet for heat dissipation. The one in the picture is too small to hold down.
