YrRc6

Capacitance test

Overview
The 47k resistor breaks down the 5.1v voltage regulator tube, providing the NPN tube with a B-pole voltage of 5.1V, an E-pole voltage of 5.1v-0.7v=4.4V, and an E-pole current = 4.4v÷100Ω=44ma. The
C-pole current is approximately equal to 44ma. Two 1k 3 watt resistors drop over 80 volts.
It is used to
discharge a 315v/150uf capacitor, and it can be reduced to about 6v in about 3 seconds, which is enough. No spark. The transistor generates almost no heat, and neither does the resistor.

If you want to make it, please pay attention to safety and be careful of electric shock and pipe explosion!
