10x10x10 LED cube

Overview
This project is a 10x10x10 LED cube using a total of 1000 bi-color LED diodes. The LED diodes are soldered to the PCB in the shape of a cube with dimensions 10x10x10. Digital Control Circuit To control the LED diodes, 21 shift registers (16-bit shift registers) are used and connected to a single clock, latch and data. 10 shift registers are assigned to red, 10 to blue, and 1 is used to control the MOSFETs that power the respective layers. This makes it a 200x10 matrix of LEDs arranged in a cube shape. Microcontroller The microcontroller used in this project is an ESP8266 as it has fast GPIO pins and the ability to connect to the internet, allowing the LED cube to be controlled from an external computer. Usage Connect the headers of the LED cube PCB to the 3.3V power supply. NOTE: The LED cube should not be powered directly from the microcontroller as it may draw more current than the microcontroller's maximum current rating. Data, clock, latches should be connected to the corresponding GPIO pins on the ESP8266. The GPIO pin number is set in code.
