Lattice ICE40 HX4K FPGA breakout board

Overview

Breakout board for Lattice HX4K FPGAs with 10 PMOD connectors and onboard microcontroller for programming and communication via USB. This FPGA breakout board is designed to document how to get started with FPGA programming, from hardware design files to loading bitstreams. In an attempt to make it a project, one of the design goals for the board was to enable it to be assembled by hand using only a soldering iron. To this end, all critical components are in leaded packages and there are no passive components smaller than 0805. For some components (USB Type-C connector J4, 12MHz oscillator X1, and RGB LEDs D1 and U4), a heat gun may be required.
