USB to minipcie network card - rtl8188/MT7601

Overview

The MINI PCI-E standard of notebooks and small hosts contains USB signals and 3.3V power supply. This project is to lead the USB signal to the network card module. Because the minipcie output itself is 3.3v power supply, there is no need to make any adjustments to the power supply. In other words, this solution does not require any peripheral circuits and only exists as an adapter board.
Look at the working principle above. Because the USB signal is output from the computer, some computers screen this signal or have no signal output at all, which will cause this card to be unusable. If you encounter this problem, you can search for tutorials on brushing the whitelist to unlock the USB port.
Reserve full-height pcie, and you can cut it into half-height for use if necessary. (The board is 1mm thick, and you can cut it with scissors or finger scissors, it's very easy.)
According to my own needs, the antenna part uses a welded antenna pad. If necessary, you can change it to an IPEX seat or an onboard antenna (onboard is not recommended, the signal inside the machine is so bad that you can't imagine it, and some metal-body computers are basically a Faraday cage inside! Signal... Hehe.)
This project provides a possibility of going from 0 to 1 in a cheap way. Such modules can be easily obtained from some scrapped set-top boxes, cheap drone image transmission and other wifi networking devices. You can make this project for zero yuan, and even if you buy new ones, you can find many options below ten yuan (the module is shown in the figure below), and the cheapest minipcie network card usually costs more than ten yuan, and the performance is not much better than such a card. And if your device happens to have an idle minipcie, this solution is far more stable and reliable than the USB interface solution, and does not occupy the USB port extra (although it actually uses USB).

The board has been made, but it has not been sent yet, waiting for verification. ------Verified on 2023.1.9

(ignore the welder, but come to think of it, after the ground wire is coppered, the heat dissipates too fast) The network speed is the same as the USB solution (about 80 megabits, my test platform is the CA8000 small host of Linze Technology, and the Faraday cage-like body is largely responsible for the slow wireless network speed!).

Note that the board must be 1.0 thick (minipcie standard board thickness), otherwise it cannot be used! ! !
