Super mini version!! USB HUB!

Overview

Unauthorized commercial use is prohibited! If I catch you, I will give you nightmares, and you will suffer the consequences!

Super mini versionヾ(≧▽≦*)o USB2.0 docking station

interface:
TYPE-C input (16P)
TYPE-A output (4P 2.0)

Update log:
1. Added a pattern to the schematic 2023/3/2
2. Added a picture of someone else's magic modification to the open source page 2023/3/12
[Dock physical picture.ZIP] This picture has been added to the attachment
3. Draw and add a new project (unverified) 2023/3/21
4. Delete the precautions of the two bugs 2023/3/29
5. Add precautions for the compatibility of 3D shell and TYPE-A port 2023/4/13

Notes:
[If you have any questions or don't understand the open source, you can send me a private message at any time]

The differential pair equal length error is controlled in The BOM table directly generated by 0mli

Jiali Chuang may not be completely correct. It is best to slowly compare the device names and values marked on the schematic diagram.

This project does not have any code programs or the like. Just make the board, solder the components, and use it after powering on. It is very quick and easy!

The connection of the copper plating of the fixed pins at the bottom of the USB A port is very large. When I was welding, it was a bit difficult to melt the tin of the solder joint. If your soldering station power is not high, you must pay attention to the thickness of the connection of the copper plating at the bottom, otherwise it may cause the fixed pins to be unable to melt the tin because of the large GND copper area and the heat dissipation is too fast, so that it cannot be soldered firmly.

3D shell:
You must pay attention to the printing of the 3D shell. The TYPE-A interface I used in the project is a 10mm short-body interface. If you want to use the higher A port, you must change the 3D shell a little higher, otherwise the interface will protrude from the shell. Once the interface protrudes from the shell and is curled, it is easy to scratch your hand. If you scratch it faster, you will see red. Be careful!

After the project is directly replicated, you will find that the 3D shell and PCB will be loose after being installed. This is normal, because I left some margin gap between the 3D shell and the PCB board when designing it. It is okay if it is a little loose, but I am afraid that it will be too tight, and the 3D shell will be stuck

on the PCB and cracked. The 3D shell file can be exported in the project or downloaded directly from the attachment. If you use Jialichuang EDA long enough each month,
you can print the shell for free in Jialichuang Order Assistant and 3D Monkey 3D Printing. (Now it is not possible to print for free)

Jialichuang EDA BUG:
I locked the pictures of the project, because the browser version of Jialichuang EDA now has a bug of picture offset (I reported it and it is being fixed now).
If you don't lock it, the picture will be offset every time you open EDA. When editing the locked picture, you can just unlock it and continue drawing.

If you find that the differential pairs cannot be dragged and adjusted, this is also a bug of the browser version of Jialichuang EDA (I reported it and it is being fixed now).

[The solution to the 2 bugs is to save the project as and then draw it on the Jialichuang EDA client, or wait for Jialichuang developers to fix these 2 bugs as soon as possible]
[These two bugs are now completely fixed in the professional version 2.0 of Jialichuang EDA]

Function introduction
As you can see, the functions implemented by this board are very simple:
1. Expand one USB port to 4 USB ports to increase the number of devices that can be connected to the computer
2. The size is small enough to put it in your pocket! I took it away q(≧▽≦q) 30mm X 25mm size
3. It was measured that all four USB-A ports can be fully plugged in and will not be blocked by each other (unless you use a non-male USB-A male plug)
4. The expansion dock is separated from the cable, so you can freely change the type of cable, the length of the cable, and the colorfulness of the cable. It is not only convenient to store but also beautiful!
5. My two 2.4G receivers occupy two USB3.0A ports, so every time I want to plug in a USB flash drive, I have to unplug a receiver, because the bandwidth required by the 2.4G receiver is not large, USB2.0 is more than enough, occupying one USB3.0A port and leaving another USB3.0A port free.

Speed
testTest tool: U disk to
transfer SSD file: Three GTA5 screen recording files (5GB)

U disk SanDisk CZ73 64G Read 150MB/S Write 20MB/S
Solid state drive Zhitai TiPro 7000 Gen4 flagship 1TB
[Both are bought from JD.com's self-operated flagship store, so you can rest assured] The maximum
transmission speed of the U disk connected to the computer through the expansion dock
is 38.7MB/S and
the average speed is 38.4MB/S.

Compared with the first version of my expansion dock, the speed has been improved and the size has been reduced~!

3D shell design
PCB: [Unmodified version of the original project]
The opening of the 3D shell in the TYPE-C interface is very large, and the male head
of the data cable can be directly plugged in to prevent the data cable from protruding. Taking into account that everyone is replicating, some of the data cables bought by everyone have very large TYPE-C male heads that cannot be plugged in,
so another version is specially designed PCB: [Compatible with 3D shell version] Make the TYPE-C interface protrude outward, perfectly compatible with all lines that can be inserted normally without being blocked.

You may be curious why the holes in the TYPE-C interface of the 3D shell are tilted downward, because there is some space under the board. If the pins of the through-hole components at the bottom are not particularly prominent and
you don’t put some paper under them~the board will sink and the whole will move downward, and it will be inconvenient to insert the TYPE-C interface. This design can ensure that the board has margin for up and down displacement.

Physical display of the actual daily use of
the expansion dock and 3D shell (the input line will glow) (The wire with heat shrink tubing is made by myself, because I don’t want to spend 9.8 yuan to buy a short wire) Someone has copied my project and verified it successfully!
