NXP’s 3D face recognition solution based on EdgeReady MCU

VIZN3D

Overview
NXP's EdgeReady MCU-based 3D face recognition solution is equipped with the i.MX RT117F crossover MCU, allowing developers to quickly and easily add 3D face recognition and advanced liveness detection capabilities to their products, making the product even Works well under adverse outdoor lighting conditions and resists more sophisticated fraud attacks. 3D liveness detection identifies and resists fraud using photos or 3D models, using a high-performance 3D structured light camera module (SLM) and optional low-cost CMOS sensor-based RGB camera, eliminating the need for expensive, power-hungry, Linux-based MPU, and speeds up startup. The solution’s development kit, SLN-VIZN3D-IOT, comes with fully integrated turnkey software for rapid out-of-the-box operation, minimizing time to market and reducing risk and development effort. Face recognition and liveness detection are executed completely offline on the i.MX RT117F MCU without using a cloud connection, which can get rid of some privacy issues that consumers worry about and eliminate the delays associated with cloud solutions. The solution includes available remote registration capabilities, allowing end users to register their face using their mobile device.
