Solar street light with integrated MPPT charger including BOM and block diagram

 
Overview
This design is a 12A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) solar charge controller with 700mA LED driver. This design targets low power solar charger and LED driver solutions such as solar street lights. This design is capable of charging a 12V battery with 10A output current from a 12V panel. However, this design can be easily adapted to a 24V system by simply changing the MOSFET to a 60V rated part. In addition, this design can drive up to 15 series LEDs with 700mA current. The design can be adapted to LED currents up to 1.1A with only minimal hardware changes. TI offers a complete solar inverter system for low power loads. In addition, this design takes into account real-world conditions such as reverse battery protection, built-in battery charging profile for 12V lead-acid batteries, and high efficiency design. With these benefits, customers can develop new products based on their designs and accelerate time to market.
