Circuit description
This circuit uses a single DC input (nominally 12 volts) and converts it to four simultaneous output voltages of 9, 6, 5 and 1.5 volts. Common 78xx series voltage regulators provide output voltage control, providing 9, 6 and 5 Vdc outputs. The 1.5 volt power supply is derived using an LM317 voltage regulator. In order to reduce the electrical energy and thermal energy output from the 5 volt regulator the LM317 is fed. Calculation of the output of LM317: VO = 1.25 (1 + R1/R2) and R1 200 ohms (using 180 plus 22 ohms in series) This project is 1.5 volts. F2, 3,4,5 output fuse, at 500 mA (0.5). If the input power is full 500 mA then the DC input must be able to source at least 2 amps from each output. 1 lit LED shows the circuit is operating.
