This circuit operates as shown in Figure 57-4. The only difference is that the field ride-through rectified power supply, the armature is placed on the SCR bridge. So the field current is unidirectional but the armature current is reversible; hence the direction of rotation of the motor is reversible. Potentiometer R1 controls the speed.
