Going global and attracting inbound investment
Creating an efficient channel for cross-border technology trade
By 2023, the output value of Lingang's smart car industry had surpassed 300 billion yuan. Meanwhile, the Lingang New Area has fully established an industrial ecosystem covering the entire supply chain of new energy vehicles, including automotive chips, autonomous driving systems, interiors, bodywork, new materials, and precision machining. Against this backdrop, the Shanghai Technology Exchange, China's first national permanent technology market, jointly established in 1993 by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghai Municipal Government, and its international edition, Shanghai Technology International, are deeply rooted in the Lingang New Area, striving to become a global hub for cross-border technology trade. Leveraging the core advantages of its national technology trading license, the National Intellectual Property Operation (Shanghai) Trading Service Platform, and the Intellectual Property Judicial Appraisal Center registered with the Supreme People's Court, they aim to connect the entire cross-border technology trade chain, including technology, data, capital, and talent.
Shanghai Technology Exchange International Trading Center Mr. Fu Xudong, Deputy General Manager In his keynote speech titled "Technology Empowers Innovation: Shanghai Technology International Builds a Global Cross-Border Technology Trade Center," he stated that we are accelerating the development of a cross-border technology trade platform that integrates service, functional, and support systems to promote compliance in the global transfer of scientific and technological achievements and assist Chinese companies in both attracting foreign investment and expanding globally.
Since 2019, Lingang Science and Technology has been expanding into the Yangtze River Delta, adhering to an incubation model of "R&D in Lingang, Production in the Yangtze River Delta." Currently, it operates enclaves and branch centers in Ningbo, Wuxi, and other locations. At the beginning of 2024, Lingang Science and Technology and Avnet entered into a strategic partnership, continuously strengthening the market for connecting the supply and demand of technological elements and promoting the integration and connection between local enterprises in the Lingang New Area and domestic and foreign enterprises. As the largest shareholder of Lingang Science and Technology, Shanghai Technology International co-organized the Suzhou and Ningbo sessions of the Avnet Automotive Ecosystem Summit. Leveraging its international technology trading network, Shanghai Technology International aims to promote the upgrading of the global new energy vehicle industry through technology transactions, empower the new energy vehicle industry ecosystem in the Lingang New Area by connecting upstream and downstream supply chains, and support the development of an automotive electronics industry cluster in the Lingang New Area.
