In this reference design, a buck-boost converter (referenced to the input voltage) generates 350mA from a 7V to 18V DC supply to drive four white LEDs (WLEDs). The design uses the MAX16834 current-mode high-brightness (HB) LED driver.
Input voltage: 7V to 18V
Input voltage ripple: 100mV P-P
LED current: 350mA
LED current ripple: 5% (maximum)
LED forward voltage: 3.5V (at 350mA)
Number of LEDs: 4 (maximum)
Output overvoltage protection: 17.2V
Input
V IN , PGND: power input
PWMDIM, SGND: PWM dimming input
Output
LED+: Connect LED anode to LED+
LED-: Connect LED cathode to LED-
