High performance 1-Wire network driver

Overview

Introduction

The reliability of a 1-Wire network depends largely on the performance of the communication driver circuitry used between the master and 1-Wire slave devices. This article introduces a 1-Wire host-side interface that uses fine impedance matching and "intelligent" (software-controlled) strong pull-up methods to ensure that the network can work reliably from light to heavy load, and the communication distance can be up to 500m. For guidance on creating reliable 1-Wire networks, see Application Note 148 .
