Overview

Industry 4.0 is the fourth revolution in manufacturing and process automation, which poses a huge challenge to PLC design engineers: integrating more functions into increasingly smaller packages. Increasing I/O density and smaller package sizes also bring another fundamental design challenge: inevitable power consumption issues. Systems must be more power efficient than ever before to avoid PLC overheating, especially in applications where fans and vents are not typically available.
